Reproductive System
Our reproductive system is the most unique systems of all of the systems because it produces its own hormones and it is not very many, like the testes and the ovary. Endocrine system produces lots of hormones and is not unique like the Reproductive system. Reproductive system is important because without it people cannot be born. And it is not nice to imagine a world with less people interacting to each other. Reproductive system is an amazing system that we should take care of.
Scientists found a new way to detect an ovarian cancer and it is called Pap smear. Cancer cells that goes down to the cervix can be detected by this test.
Reproductive system has two main parts; the female reproductive system and the male reproductive system. The female reproductive system is mainly composed of; ovaries that are located near the pelvic cavity. The male reproductive system is composed of scrotum, somniferous tubules, epididymis and the semen, which contain the sperms. The sperms and the ovary combines and forms an embryo in a process called fertilization. After fertilization, the embryo will form in the mother’s uterus, and after 9 months, the baby will go out of the urethra, which is the last process called the delivery stage.
Reproductive system works with the Endocrine system and the Excretory system. The reproductive organs helps make the hormones for the Endocrine system. Testes produces the testosterone and the ovaries produces the progesterone, and these hormones are responsible for the secondary characteristics.
Endometriosis affects most of the American girls in the U.S. It happens when the endometrium which is in the uterus, sheds its tissue which develops in to nodules, lesions, tumors, growths or implants.

Dr. Sharyn Lewis said consulting to the doctor is important for women that are genetically malignant with cancers like the ovarian cancer because they might have genetic abnormality that can worsen the risk. Even though there are less people who are like this, it is better to be safe rather than being careless of the person’s health. Mutations in the genes, cancers and a genetic syndrome called HNPCC can lead to the development of the ovarian cancer. She said that ovarian cancer population cannot be easily detected unlike cervical cancer but there are ways to reduce the risk of this cancer. One of the ways that women can do is to remove their fallopian tube and ovaries because the possibility to have this cancer can increase as they age. Regular blood testing and ultrasound evaluation can also help for women wanting to have children, but if they have the possibility that they have the cancer, the cancer can be detected late. She suggests chemotherapy and intravenous chemotherapy, there is another therapy called the heat therapy that is proven to be more effective than other therapies. Dr. Lewin suggests to approach the patient kindly, to make them feel comfortable and to listen to the patient. Ovarian cancer is common to women, when a person knows that they have genes that are related to the cancer, it is better to make counter measures.
